This is my 2012 build of the mighty Battleship Arizona kit by Trumpeter. I added the detail set done by Tom's Model Works. I also used EZ Line which if your a ship modeler and don't use this stuff, get some off EBay NOW! It is amazing stuff to do model ship rigging with. I painted the wood decking in a few different shades of tan and brown. I used a fine detail brush to draw thin lines of darker browns and tans to simulate planks. I used an unfinished drawer front I got at the IKEA scratch and dent isle for a base and made a display case out of acrylic to fit it. (That will be another article...)
The flags on 1/350 scale models are always the worst part of the build, because they always come out like crap for me. This one was no different.
| Note the EZ Line rigging running fore and aft. GET THIS STUFF! |
| The port and starboard mast arrays were the best part of the detail set! |
Thanks for looking!
